CHICOPEE – Aline Anne Marie (Authier) Boissonnault, 92, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, December 13, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on April 28, 1927, the beloved daughter of the late Adrien A. and Henedine A. (Emond) Authier. She graduated from Holyoke High School, and moved to Chicopee in her early twenties.
Throughout her life, she was committed to making a happy home for her family. She enjoyed many leisure activities, including summertime visits to the beach, Saturday evening dances at the Elks Club, ten-pin bowling, and various travel destinations, though playing cards with family and friends was at the top of her list. She had a special fondness for her relatives living in Canada, and looked forward to visiting with them as often as possible.
Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years, Ronald J. Boissonnault, who passed away on October 25, 2016. She leaves four loving children, Ronald A. Boissonnault and his wife, Theresa, of South Hadley, Robert G. Boissonnault and his wife, Cheryl, of Chicopee, Diane H. Benoit and her husband, Dave, of Ashland and Janice C. Zepko and her husband, Anthony, of West Springfield; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers-in-law, Gilbert Boissonnault of Chicopee and Arthur Boissonnault and his wife, Joan, of Southwick, and her many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Her children would like to acknowledge a debt of gratitude to the many caregivers whose help made it possible to keep Aline in her home, especially close to her heart were Tayza Rodriguez-Lopez, Taiye Ologunro and Elizabeth Aponte-Jusino. In addition, they would like to thank the team of nurses at Holyoke Hospice for providing essential end-of-life care.
