David and Tracie Ryan
11/15/2019

David J. and Tracie S. Ryan, married for over 20 years and longtime residents of Canton, Massachusetts, passed away on November 15 and October 30, respectively at Beth Israel and Norwood Hospitals.

Both born in Boston, David and Tracie were loving parents of Robert P. and Sarah E. Ryan of Canton, Massachusetts and students at Blue Hills Regional Technical School. David was the youngest of the four children of the late Bernard M. and Cornelia A. (Canney) Ryan of Walpole, Massachusetts. Tracie was the devoted only child of the late Robert Jackson and Rita (Foley) Jackson of Canton, Massachusetts.

Recently retired for health issues, David had last worked in the parts department at CN Wood Company, Inc. of Woburn and Avon and was previously a heavy equipment truck driver for S.M. Lorusso and Sons of Walpole, MA before a serious construction accident forced him to reconsider his line of work. David was also a trained mechanic and enjoyed spending time with Robert repairing cars and working on his treasured Harley Davidson motorcycles. Besides his family, David’s true passion was for riding and he enjoyed traveling the Kancamagus Highway in Northern NH, visiting Laconia Bike Week annually and vacationing at Weirs Beach with his friends and family. His enthusiasm for touring on his bike with his love Tracie, while meeting new people and seeing the highways and byways of New Hampshire and the other New England states was when he was the happiest.

Tracie was a devoted mother who loved celebrating holidays and other occasions with her children, family and friends. On her trips with David and family to New Hampshire she would find new ornaments for the massive Christmas tree she decorated every year and enjoyed expanding her collection of Christmas items. In fact, the Ryan Family was well known for their lawn full of Christmas inflatables. Tracie was known for the large meals that she and Rita cooked together in preparation for each holiday while hosting as many as their house could fit. Tracie had previously worked at the New England Hospital School as an aide and took great pride in caring for her patients. As Robert and Sarah grew older Tracie worked for the Canton Public Schools and did volunteer work.

David and Tracie leave their two children, Robert and Sarah and their special dog Cheyenne. They are survived by their siblings and in-laws, Christine M. Caci and family of Walpole, MA, Stephen B. Ryan of Clayton, North Carolina and Patricia Ryan-Chilton of Altadena, California. David is also survived by his best friend of 40+ years, Peter Knaus of Wrentham, Massachusetts. David and Peter were lifelong friends and always enjoyed getting in trouble together, whether at Fisher School as 5th graders or hanging out as best friends do. David and Tracie also leave behind a huge circle of friends, classmates, fellow riders and vacation pals who will miss them, but as David and Tracie wished, will remember all the wonderful times they enjoyed together.

Memorial services for David and Tracie will take place early in 2020 and information will be posted on Facebook and by e-mail.

In addition, David and Tracie would have been thrilled to know that Robert has been accepted for early placement as an incoming freshman at Johnson & Wales for September 2020. A GoFundMe account to assist with educational and other expenses has been set up at: gf.me/u/wswkxh
