Richard S. Amari, lifelong resident of Medford, passed away at home on Thursday, October 3rd, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Medford, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Anna (Sidismondo) Amari.

Richard enlisted in the United States Army in the summer of 1956, serving during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in the spring of 1958.

Richard worked extremely hard and was dedicated in providing for his family. When Richard was not working, he enjoyed taking frequent trips to Home Depot, completing numerous projects around the house, watching his beloved New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox on his TV while cheering them on, listening to classic Italian music while showing off his dance moves, and most importantly helping others.

Richard was the beloved husband of the late Vita (Gucciardi) Amari. He was the devoted father of Richard S. Amari, Jr. and his wife Denise of Windham, NH, Anne LeBlanc and her husband William of Reading, and Paula Aufiero and her husband Peter of Medford. He was the loving Papa of Amanda and Joseph Aufiero, Megan and Kevin LeBlanc, Nicholas Aufiero, Juliann LeBlanc, Alessandra and Gabrielle Amari, and the loving great-papa of Kevin Foley. He was the dear twin brother of Robert V. Amari, of Medford.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Saturday, October 12th at 8:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday from 4 to 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford
