Carol J Medbury, 74, of Hartford Pike, Scituate, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday July 27, 2019.
She was born on September 21, 1944 in Providence, a daughter of the late Royal Waterman and Mildred Judson (Dexter) Medbury. She graduated from Scituate High school in 1962 and went on to study nursing at Joseph Lawrence School of Nursing in New London Connecticut. After graduating in 1965, she remained at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital as an RN, ultimately finding her passion working with babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for more than 25 years until her retirement in 2011.
Carol truly lived her life to the fullest. She traveled all over the world always making it a point to stay with her friends along the way. She was a member of the diaconate at the North Scituate Baptist Church finding joy visiting those who could no longer attend church services. She was our angel on earth and forever will be our angel in Heaven.
She leaves behind her brother Roger D. Medbury and his wife Dianne of Scituate, her sisters, Susan J. Underwood and her husband Burton of Scituate and Judith A. “Judy” Birnie of Deland, FL. She also leaves her nieces and nephews, David Medbury, Melissa Medbury, Seth Underwood and his wife Lisa, Robin Kettle and her husband Tom, Geoffrey Birnie and his wife Sharon, Jennifer Graf and her husband Rusty, Matthew Birnie, Todd Birnie and Eric Birnie. She also leaves her great-nieces and nephews, Corey Underwood, Thomas Kettle, Erin Underwood, Deyana Underwood, Madison Medbury, Taylor Birnie, Landon Birnie, Audrey Birnie, Kennedy Graf, and Presley Graf, as well as a great-great- niece, Rowan and a great-great-nephew, Mason.
There will be a celebration of Carol’s life on her birthday September 21, 2019 at the North Scituate Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the North Scituate Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
