Nancy LaBelle (DeWitt) Doros, 94, went to be with her Lord, surrounded by her large very loving Family, on June 1, 2019.
She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Theodore J. (Mitsakos) Doros, her eldest son, John P. Doros, her parents Clinton and Mary DeWitt, as well as her sisters, Edna, Stella, Mary her brother William and her great grandson, Joshua Sawicki.
She will be fondly remembered by her daughter-in-law, Eleanor Doros, wife of John Doros; her children, Lanna Dziedzic and husband George of Webster, Theodore Doros of Fairfax, VA., Lonnie Doros of Bolton, CT, Ronnie and his wife Lorrie of Woodstock, CT., William Doros and his wife Cecilia of Shrewsbury, Karen Doros of Webster, and Mary Papageorge and her husband George, 14 grandchildren and their spouses, 21 great grandchildren,
Her precious sister-in-law, June DeWitt, numerous nieces and nephews, and many neighbors and friends.
Nancy was born in Mills, Nebraska, then lived her younger years in Wyoming. She met her husband Theodore, while working at the Air Force base where he was stationed during WWII, in Casper WY. They married in 1944 and eventually moved to Massachusetts where she devotedly raised their 8 children. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church
for over 60 years, a devout Sunday School teacher, a stalwart member, supporting all ministries of the church and many missionaries.
Nancy had many talents which she used to express her love of Christ. She used paint to transform simple rocks into beautiful little treasures with special words of inspiration. Over the years, hundreds of neighbors, friends, aides and nurses, doctors and complete strangers have received these wonderful gifts from her and have cherished the love and encouragement they bring.
Nancy shared her love of gospel music, singing with others, playing musical instruments such as guitar, harmonica and piano. Throughout her life, Nancy wrote many beautiful poems that brought joy and inspiration to many.
She loved gardening, watching and listening to birds. In recent years she was able to enjoy such nature at her home, provided by her loving son and daughter-in-law, John and Eleanor.
She lived each day in harmony with one of her favorite sayings: “This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it!”
Her final years were spent at home being cared for by all of her family and wonderful aides, with her daughter Karen being her main devoted caregiver. No matter her condition, Nancy remained graceful, grateful, faithful and maintained her notorious, beautiful smile.
Visiting Hours will be held from 4-7pm, on Friday, June 7, at the ROBERT J. MILLER FUNERAL HOME and LAKE CHAPEL, 366 School St., Webster.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, June 8,, at the First Baptist Church, 33 East Main St, proceeding to Mt. Zion Cemetery.
