Elizabeth Mears Tullett Lovingly known to many as Big Mama of Ojai, California passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on Mothers day, May 12th 2019 surrounded by loved ones. Big Mama was born in Hainsville, Louisiana to Allen and Icy Mears on the 5th of July 1922. Big Mama loved to travel, at 80 years old she was still driving herself between California and Louisiana regularly. She enjoyed sewing, teaching and playing the piano, shopping for treasures, time spent with her beloved family and not to forget, raising a little cain. To say she was the sweetest woman wouldn't do her justice. She was wild eyed and adventurous. Fiery and loving. All wrapped up into an amazing, wonderful spirited woman.
Big Mama leave behind a legacy that runs as deep as it is wide, she is survived by her three children Mike, Terry and Todd. Nine grandchildren Barbra, Connie, Hilary, Huntly, Mikyln, Wyatt, Trevor, Justine and Bailey. As well as 26 Great grandchildren and 6 Great-great grandchildren. In addition to those listed she leaves behind many adopted grandchildren as everyone she met quickly became family. She is preceded in death by her husband John C. Tullett "DaddyO", her parents Allen Laverne Mears and Icy Roberta Martin Mears as well as her brother Allen "Jack" Mears. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Gabriel Gullien of Hospice for bringing her great comfort in her final days. Family and friends are invited to funeral services to be held Friday May 17, 2019 at 11 a.m.in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street Ventura. Interment will immediately follow in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
