Whitinsville
Mitchell Minor, 98, passed away peacefully, April 11, 2019 at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Nursing Care in Northbridge.
He was the husband of the late Doris (Mercier) Minor who died in 1992, and last of 10 siblings of the late John and Katherine (Prglaza) Minor and was born in Northbridge, May 30, 1920, he was predeceased by his daughter, Carol A. DiCicco who died in 2016, and son-in-law Joseph A. ‘Joe’ DiCicco who died in 2017, brothers; John of Northbridge, Walter, Theodore and Bernard of Chicopee, Joseph of Danielson, CT., Albert of Clinton and sister; Josephine Cygan of Chicopee. Louise Armata of Springfield, and Helen Warchol of Northbridge.
Mitchell is survived a daughter, Jean Ilionhan and her husband Dennis of Mount Arlington, New Jersey and their three children, Debra, Linda and David and by 3 grand-daughters; Carla J. Anderson and her husband Dennis of Athol, Cheryl D. Prout and her husband Phillip of Grafton, and Rodna M. DiCicco of Douglas, 10 great grandchildren, nephews; Robert Armata of Chicopee, Ronald Minor of Westfield, Kenneth Warchol of Northbridge, Walter Warchol of Northbridge, and nieces; Barbara Nieves of Florida, Joanne Noble of Springfield, Alice Albertowitz of East Longmeadow, and Kathy Hall of Charleston, South Carolina.
He worked at Reed Row Tread and Die Co. for many years before retiring.
Mitchell was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and served in Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland and Central Europe.
He was a 70 plus year member of the American Legion Post in Northbridge and its oldest member.
He was also a member of St. Peter’s Church.
At his request, there are no calling hours.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 10 AM in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Whitinsville.
