Obituary

Edward Orchanian 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Bedros (Peter)and Santook (Kurdolian) Orchanian.
Eddie grew up in Watertown and later moved to Everett where he graduated from Everett High School. Immediately following high school he enlisted into the United States Navy, serving from 1942-1946 on the LST 4, which earned 4 battle stars during World War II for the following operations: The Allied invasion of Sicily in July 1943; the Salerno Landings in September 1943; the Anzio-Nettuno advanced landings on the west coast of Italy from January to February 1944; and the Invasion of southern France from August to September 1944. He was proud of serving in the United States Navy, being a veteran and loved his country. He was a member of Amvets Post 41 in Watertown and a member of the Mason’s.  Eddie worked in real estate most of his life developing land and sales. Most of all, Eddie was a loving husband, father and grandfather who focused on spending time with his family. He supported his wife and raised his children with love and wisdom. Eddie looked forward to spending time on Cape Cod, especially on Old Silver Beach with his family and friends. He was a very proud grandfather who loved to spend every minute he could with his grandchildren.
Eddie was the beloved husband of Jacqueline Orchanian, devoted father of Edward Orchanian Jr and Christine(Orchanian) Santoro and her husband James Santoro. He was a loving grandfather to Nicholas and Alexandra. Dear brother of the late Virginia (Orchanian) Zouranjian and Mary Orchanian. Funeral service at Saint James Armenian Church, 465 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown on Thursday, April 25 at 11:00 a.m. Visiting hours at the Aram Bedrosian Funeral Home, 558 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown on Wednesday, April 24 from 5 - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Saint James Armenian Church. Interment at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
