Marco L. Marchi, 81, of Medford passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019. Born in Somerville, MA on December 23, 1937, he is the son of the late Alfred and Diva (Rigali) Marchi. Marco was an accomplished artist, creating works of art that inspired and captivated his many students. He has degrees from the Massachusetts College of Art, Boston University, and the University of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy. He worked for many years as a teacher, an art collector, and a dealer of antique art.
Marco is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Marisa (Gavazzi) Marchi, and his son Jason Marchi and wife Tracy. He is the beloved grandfather of Isaac Marchi. He is also a dear brother-in-law and uncle to many family members both in the US and in Italy.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 15, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 10:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph’s Church, Medford at 11:30 am. Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
