Zilan Liu

On April 12th, 2019, Zilan Liu passed away peacefully at Brigham & Women’s Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on April 5th, 1942 to Huaibi Liu and Xiuluan Zhang and lived the majority of her life in Bejing, China. In her later years, she moved to the U.S. to be closer to her family.

Zilan grew up with her sister Jinyuan in a convent and worked as office manager until retirement. In 1968, she and her husband Zhongqi started a family. Zilan was always admired by her family and friends for enduring all the hardships of life with smiles and laugh. We remember her fondly for instilling in all of us the importance of dressing warm, taking care of our health, and facing life with bravery and grace.

Zilan is remembered by her husband, Zhongqi, her children, Ying and her husband Michael, and Nan and his wife Yuchen; her sister, Jinyuan and her husband Jiahuai; her granddaughters, Yiran, Jingrui, and Cecilia; her nephew and niece Jing and Miao, and many friends and family members. Funeral services will be held at the Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street, WEST ROXBURY from 11:00 a.m.- 12 noon on Thursday, April 18th, 2019. Burial will follow at the Gardens Cemetery, Baker Street, West Roxbury.
