Obituary

Velma A. "Mickey" McLatchy, AKA "MicMac Squaw", a resident of Woburn and beloved wife of 30 years of Geraldine "Gerry" Flammia, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Tuesday, April 9, 2019. She was 68 years old. Born in Woburn, Massachusetts, on December 8, 1950, she was the beloved daughter of the late William H. and Helen (Hodge) McLatchy. Mickey was employed by ADP Fulfillment in Lynnfield for many years.

Mickey's kind and gentle spirit touched all that knew her. She was gifted with a quick wit and loved to make people laugh. She loved her family and friends deeply, and had an incredible passion for all animals, especially her horses. An active woman her entire life, she enjoyed dancing, boating, fishing, and camping. Some of her favorite past times were watching the Patriots play football, listening to old time country music, and spending time outdoors, enjoying nature. She will be missed and her spirit and laughter will live on in our hearts.

Besides her loving wife, Gerry, she is survived by her cherished brothers and sisters-in-law; Donald McLatchy of Woburn, William "Billy" and his wife Terry McLatchy of Chesterville, Maine and John and his wife Maureen McLatchy of New Ipswich, New Hampshire and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A memorial celebration of Mickey's life will be held at a later date to be announced. Donations in Mickey's memory may be made to Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem, MA and The Lifesavers Wild Horse Rescue in Caliente, CA. For additional information, please visit, www.magliozzifuneralhome.com
