Elizabeth “Betty Ann” Testa of Westwood passed away peacefully on April 7, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Roxbury, Betty Ann grew up in Jamaica Plain and attended St. Joseph’s High School in Roxbury. She moved to Westwood in 1974, where she spent her remaining years.

She was the daughter of Katherine (Craffey) and Edward Hughes and sister of the late Marilyn Curtis, and of Tom Hughes and Claire Hughes. She was the loving mother of Christopher Roche and his wife Maria of Brookline, Kerry (Roche) Ferguson and her husband Christopher of Walpole, and Katelyn Testa and her husband Jaime of Westwood. She was the loving grandmother of Nicholas, Jamie, Jack, Jessica, Owen, Connor and Isabel.

Betty Ann worked at the Massachusetts State House for many years as an administrative assistant. She participated in a bowling league with friends for many years, and also enjoyed going for walks and playing tennis. Betty Ann loved people and was a very loyal friend. She lived for her family and was a very dedicated mother and “Nana,” attending almost every game and event that her grandchildren participated in.

The legacy that Betty Ann will leave behind is her kindness and friendly nature. She had a beautiful smile and was outgoing and personable. She made friends wherever she went, and she touched so many lives.
