Obituary

Robert Joseph Palmer, 72, of Roxbury, MA passed away suddenly at his home on March 12, 2019. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alicia Desmarais Hinse of Manchester, NH and survived by his brother Donald Palmer, sister-in-law Lizzie Palmer and sisters Claire Palmer, Marcelle Bryant and their children Liza Jorgensen, Desiree Palmer, Aaron Palmer, Keith Russell and Jennifer Vana.

Born in New Hampshire (Concord), Robert spent most of his life as a resident of the Boston area. During his lifetime he settled west for challenge and adventure in California, Arizona and Nevada. He drove a taxi in Boston for many years, was engaged as a security guard in Phoenix, became a nationally recognized top shoe salesman based in San Francisco and dabbled in the gaming industry of Las Vegas – all-of-the-above underscored by his fond wizardry of computers.

A confirmed bachelor, Robert – or “Bob” to many of his closest friends – was a kind, generous and friendly person. He was for the “little man,” in many instances openly challenging the system if it compromised fairness and social values. He was unique, an honest man armed with a wicked sense of humor. Robert will be missed by all who have had the good fortune of crossing his life’s path.

A celebration of life gathering will take place in Manchester, New Hampshire, on April 13th. May God rest the everlasting presence of his blessed soul.
