Mr. Daniel S. Arthur, a resident of Medford, passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on March 14, 2019. He was 75 years old.
Born in Newburyport, Massachusetts, on April 30, 1943, he was the beloved son of the late Woody and Alice (Richardson) Arthur. Daniel was retired from the T where he last worked as a Bus Driver, for many years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed playing chess and loved to play tennis in his younger years. He was an avid Boston sports fan and also enjoyed watching golf and listening and singing along to the oldies. Grandpa or "papa", as he was known to his grandchildren, loved spending time with his grandkids and you could always hear his thunderous laughter fill the room. He was a kind and patient soul and will be dearly missed.
Daniel is survived by his better half Gracie from Medford, MA, his ten children, Letha of Hyde Park, MA, Danny of Atlanta, GA, Patricia of Boston, MA, Lisa of Atlanta, GA, Eric (deceased), Leon of Boston, MA, Kevin of Boston, MA, Danielle of Medford, MA, Stacey of Dorchester, MA and Chris of Quincy, MA, as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Also mourning his loss are his siblings Jean of Milton, MA, Joyce of Dorchester, MA, Evelyn of South Carolina, close family friend Tracy of Roxbury, MA, and various other relatives and friends.
His funeral service will be celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 10am. Visitation will be held in the funeral home, prior to the service, from 10am to 11am. Interment will be held in the Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park.
