ROONEY, Kathleen J. (Higgins) of Center Harbor, NH formerly of Roslindale passed away peacefully on March 15, 2019. Devoted daughter of the late Thomas J. and Julia (Sullivan) Higgins. Beloved wife of the late John J. Rooney, Jr. Loving mother of John F. Rooney and his wife Angela of Moultonborough, NH and the late Robert M. Rooney. Mother-in-law of Sheryl (Groves) Rooney. Cherished grandmother of Shannon, Shayla, Patrick, Devin, Jacqueline and the late Suzanne. Great-grandmother of 3. Sister of Geraldine (Gerry) Proctor of Pembroke. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Kathleen was a BPD Traffic Supervisor Area E-5. She retired in 1993 after 27 years of service to Roslindale Square. Visitation will be held in the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street, WEST ROXBURY on Wednesday, March 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Theresa of Avila Church at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Mount Benedict Cemetery.
