Robert H. Caswell, age 89, of Forestport, NY, formerly of Norton, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 15, 2019. He was the beloved husband of the late Nancy C. (Simmons) Caswell who died on July 7, 2015.
Born in Attleboro, MA on September 27, 1929, he was a loving son of the late Chester H. Caswell and the late Charlotte (Andrews) Richardson.
Bob grew up in Norton and was a graduate of Norton High School and had made his home in New York for the past thirty-one years.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Caswell had worked as a machinist at the Foxboro Co. in Foxboro and had previously been employed at Clearfloat in Attleboro.
Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and the simple pleasure of relaxing at home. His hobbies included being a talented woodworker and having a special love for gardening.
He is survived by his devoted children: Cynthia Westhall of Forestport, New York, Robin Gruenfelder and her husband Thomas of Victor, New York, Robert Caswell of Virginia, Holly Teixeira and her husband Bruce of Norton, Brian Caswell of Forestport, New York, Mark Caswell of Florida and the late Richard Caswell. He is also survived by his cherished 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a graveside funeral service on Friday, April 12th at 11:00 A.M. at the Norton Center Cemetery, Pine St., Norton.
Visiting hours have been omitted and those wishing may remember Robert with a donation in his memory made to a charity of one’s choice.
