Norma J. (Plouffe) O'Clair

SPRINGFIELD ~ Norma J. (Plouffe) O’Clair, 77, of the Baystate Place Apartments in Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Friday, March 8, 2019. She passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at West Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Holyoke on January 25, 1942, the beloved daughter of the late Norman and Bertha D. (Kirby) Plouffe. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving son, Darren M. O’Clair; and her dear sister, Pamela Pamaylaon, who was Called Home just a few hours after Norma on March 8, 2019. Norma was raised in Holyoke and graduated from Precious Blood Catholic High School. She lived for a short time in New Hampshire before returning to the area to reside in West Springfield and later in Southwick. She then moved to Springfield in the 1980’s where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed as a Unit Secretary at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. During her leisure time, she enjoyed making jewelry, watching movies and especially enjoyed all things Disney. She loved cooking and had the largest collection of cooking magazines. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends. She leaves her loving son and daughter-in-law, Sean E. and Bonnie L. O’Clair of Blandford; her cherished granddaughter, Jennifer E. Clark and her husband, Richard, of Westfield; her four precious great-grandchildren, Rick, Caila, Jameson and Annabelle Clark; her dear sister, Dorothy Causeway of North, VA; her dear brother-in-law, Doug Pamaylaon of the Indian Orchard section of Springfield; and her many nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family members. Her family will receive friends for visiting hours on Monday, March 18, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. Her funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of her family.
