Elena Barrows Teal, 90 of Stoughton, Massachusetts, died peacefully in her sleep on March 10, 2019 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester, MA. Elena was born on June 28, 1928 in Central Baguanos Oriente, Cuba. Elena immigrated to the U.S. in 1952 and settled in Hartford, CT. Elena met her future husband Robert (Bob) Teal while residing in Connecticut. They were married in 1955 and moved to Boston, Massachusetts several years later. Elena was a homemaker and devoted, loving wife to Bob, until his death in 2005, and wonderful mother to daughter Amanda Teal. For most of her life, her occupation was in domestic services where she was employed by many wonderful families who all considered her a valued member of their family. She loved to garden and cook and often hosted parties and various celebrations for families and friends throughout the years. Elena also loved to travel, especially home to Cuba, where she would spend time with her family.
Elena is predeceased by her husband Bob, her sisters Christina and Ortencia and a brother George. She is survived by her devoted daughter Amanda of Stoughton, sister Emiliana Barrows Smith of Havana, Cuba, sister-in-law Olga Smith of Hartford, CT, as well as relatives in Cuba and many wonderful friends who also mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held at the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home 10 tower St. (Opp. Forest Hills MBTA Station) Jamaica Palin on Friday March 15 from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm. Interment will then follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Roslindale. | ||||
