Robert R. Barnes, age 66, of Fall River, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Fall River Healthcare in Fall River.
Born in Attleboro, MA on June 17, 1952, he was a loving and devoted son of Basil B. Barnes of Taunton and the late Marion L. (Dunton) Barnes
Bob grew up in Mansfield and was a 1971 graduate of Mansfield High School. While in school he was actively involved as a member of the Mansfield High School Marching Band. He later shared his love of music, serving as an instructor to future band members.
Prior to retiring, Bob had worked as a chef, was employed by John Hancock and also at the Samoset House in Mansfield. He enjoyed helping others by participating in community service and was an avid Boston Bruins fan.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his brothers and sister: William Barnes of Easton, Steven Barnes of Mansfield, James Barnes of Taunton, Thomas Barnes of New Hampshire, David Barnes of Attleboro, Kathleen Snow of Taunton and his loving nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Robert’s wishes, services and burial will be private and visiting hours have been omitted.
