Louis Alberto, age 84, of Ormond Beach, Florida, formerly of South Daytona, Florida, Plainville and Hyde Park, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Born in Boston, MA on March 21, 1934, he was a loving son of the late Frank J. and Felicia (Ungaro) Alberto.

Louie grew up and was educated in Boston. At age 17, he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during the time of the Korean Conflict, prior to being honorably discharged

A resident of Florida for the past twenty-two years, Mr. Alberto had previously made his home in Plainville and Hyde Park. Prior to retiring, he had been employed for many years as a Crane Operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers in Boston.

Louie thoroughly enjoyed his retirement years living in Florida. He loved spending time with his family, fishing and hanging out with his good friends.

He is survived by his devoted daughter: Betty Lou Parker and her husband Bob of Norton. He was the cherished and adored grandfather of Laine and Lacey Parker of Norton. He was the dear brother of Ann “Honey” Sarto of Dedham, Frances “Frannie” Fish of Easton, Florence “Flo” Dwyer of Hull and the late Vera Alberto, Rosalie “Dolly” MacDonald and Mary Longval. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday, March 14th at 11:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial with military honors will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:00 P.M.

Visitation will be held prior to the funeral services beginning Thursday morning at 10:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
