SPRINGFIELD ~ Kathleen M. O’Connell, 70, of Linden Towers, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Mount Saint Vincent Care Center. She was born in Springfield on March 30, 1948, a daughter of the late Edward J. O’Connell, Jr. and Catherine C. (Sullivan) O’Connell and was raised and schooled in Springfield. Kathleen was employed for 30 years at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. Active in her Catholic faith, she was a member of the Apostolate of the Suffering. She leaves her brothers and sisters, James M. O’Connell and his wife, Joyce, of Chatham, MA , Sheila A. O’Connell-King and her husband, Steve, of Tolland, CT, Mary T. O’Connell of Vermont, Frances V. O’Connell of Springfield and Thomas R. O’Connell of Chatham, MA; her sister- in-law, Joanne O’Connell of Chicopee; her brother-in-law, Paul Bachleda of Westfield; and many nephews and nieces. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by two brothers, Edward J. O’Connell III and William O’Connell; and her sister, Margaret A. Bachleda. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
