VOZZELLA, Lorraine “Rainy” (Owen) quietly and peacefully departed this life surrounded by her loving children on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Washington Hospital, Fremont, California. Beloved wife of the late Theodore “Ted” Vozzella. Loving mother of Donna Skelley and her husband Randy of Livermore, California, Deborah Martin of Franklin, Massachusetts, Theodore Vozzella and his wife Lea of Canton, Massachusetts. She also leaves her five precious grandchildren, Ashleigh Martin Polvado, Michael Vozzella, Gregory Skelley, Christopher Martin and Marina Vozzella, and her two great-grandchildren, Corey Martin and Lola Grace Polvado. Beloved daughter of the late William H. and Agnes M. Owen and stepdaughter of the late Eleanor Owen. She was the much loved sister of the late Eleanor Sifferlen, Dorothy Owen, and Barbara Owen. Sister-in-law of Henry Vozzella and his late wife Verna of Sharon and Natalie and Arthur Robicheau of West Roxbury. She also leaves many cherished nieces and nephews. Lorraine was born June 9, 1932 in Boston. Massachusetts. She attended the public schools of Dorchester, MA and was a graduate of Dorchester High School. Mrs. Vozzella was an active member of the Church of St. Gerard in Canton, Massachusetts. As a result of her generous spirit and outgoing personality, she was loved by many. She will be remembered for her love of entertaining and cooking, whether it be her summers on Cape Cod, or weekends by the pool in Westwood, Massachusetts. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. We will always remember the compassionate care that she received at the Washington Hospital. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Friday, March 8th at 8:30 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Gerard Majella Church, Canton, MA at 10 o’clock. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 pm.
