Dorothy H. "Dot" (Yesacavage) Daigle

EAST HARTFORD, CT ~ Dorothy H. “Dot” (Yesacavage) Daigle, 84, of East Hartford, Connecticut and a longtime resident of the Fairview section of Chicopee, Massachusetts, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. She passed into Eternal Life at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania on November 21, 1934, a beloved daughter of the late William and Sophia (Babiarz) Yesacavage. She was raised in Springfield, Massachusetts, graduated in 1952 from Cathedral High School and lived in Springfield until her marriage in1957 when she moved to Chicopee. She lived in Chicopee for the remainder of her life until moving to East Hartford in 2018. She was employed as a telephone operator for New England Telephone, which later became AT&T, in Springfield. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Fairview and was an active member of the Chicopee Senior Center. She loved to read and actively read for the blind at Valley Eye Radio in Springfield. An avid traveler, she visited many beautiful places with her husband, Joseph. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Joseph Daigle. They were married on July 13, 1957 at Saint Michael Church in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts and were blessed with over 61 years of happiness together. She also leaves her three loving children, Pamela A. “Pam” Daigle of East Hartford, Marc R. Daigle and his wife, Julie Levin (Daigle), of Newton, Massachusetts, and Richard A. Daigle and his wife, Sara, of Gap, Pennsylvania; her four cherished grandchildren, Rachel M. Valente, Colin J. Valente, Karina Levin Rahardja and Emily Levin Daigle; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Daigle and Yesacavage families. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her dear sister and brother-in-law, Agnes Fitzgerald and her husband, John; and her dear sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Yolande Arsenault and her husband, Melvin. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The Rite of Committal and Entombment will follow the Mass at The Most Holy Redeemer Chapel Mausoleum, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield, MA 01129. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
