John C. “Scottie” Paul age 83 of Brockton died peacefully February 19, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Judith L. (Cain) Paul for 54 years. John was born and raised in Greenock, Scotland a son of the late Daniel and Annie (Rice) Paul.
After his high school graduation in Scotland, John worked in Scots Shipyard and then joined the British Royal Army. In 1958, John arrived in Brockton and had resided in the city until his death.
For many years John had been a member of Teamster Local 653 at Hallamore Trucking and Riggers in Holbrook. After a heart attack in 1984, John worked in the Quincy School Department as a custodian.
In his free time, John enjoyed woodworking while listening to his music. He loved to read especially historical books and enjoyed trips to the beach. Most of all, John enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
John was the father of Raymond A. Paul of Nashua, NH; Nancy L. Banner of Candia, NH, Daniel M. Paul of Brockton and the late John C. Paul, Jr. He leaves six grandchildren John C. Paul, III; Raymond A. Paul, Jr., Kendra S. Paul, Kayla Townsend, Katrina H. Paul and Nicole E. Paul and two great grandchildren. He was the brother of Mary “May” McIntyre of Brockton, Esther Brodie of Florida, Myra Picanzo of Lakeville, and the late Alex, James, Daniel and Robert Paul, Jeannie Sweeney, Lizzie Brown and Hannah Percival.
A Celebration of Scottie’s Life will be held at a later date.
