Elizabeth E. ‘Bette’ ‘The Queen’ (LaCoste) Stevens, 95, passed away Friday, February 8, 2019 at Brookside Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Webster.
Her husband of 68 years, William T. ‘Bill’ Stevens died June 8, 2009. She leaves three daughters; Sandra Chapdelaine of Webster, Sheryl Chevalier and Maelee Bertrand both of Oxford, 7 grandsons, 1 grand-daughter, a brother, Kenneth LaCoste of Brockton, many grand, great- grand , great- great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bette was born in Leicester on May 2, 1923, one of 14 children to the late Joseph and Emma (Lassard) LaCoste and lived in Oxford most of her life.
She worked for over 25 years at the former Oakwood Nursing Home (now Brookside Rehabilitation and Health Care Center) as a certified nurse’s aide.
Bette was a member of St. Roch’s Church, was a former Girl Scout leader, she enjoyed canning, making homemade wine, root beer, jams and jellies, and playing cards.
There are no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 10 am at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford.
Burial will be at a later date in North Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Brookside Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Activities Fund, 11 Pontiac Ave., or to The Community Cat Connection, P.O. Box 724, both Webster, MA. 01570.

Those attending the Funeral Mas on Saturday, please wear purple, at the Queen's request.
