CHICOPEE ~ Robert A. “Bob” Potvin, 64, of the Doverbrook Estates in Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, January 10, 2019. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on September 17, 1954, a beloved son of the late Alfred A. and Mary M. (Lynch) Potvin. He was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School and had lived in Chicopee most of his life. He was employed as a Tractor Trailer Operator for C&S Wholesale Grocers in Westfield. Bob enjoyed playing hockey in his younger years and also was a member of the Aldenville Junior Athletic Club (AJAC) in Chicopee. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his dear sister, Sr. Theresa Marie of the Sisters of Mercy in South Africa who was Mary Potvin in her secular life; his two dear brothers, Thomas Potvin and his wife, Phyllis, and Paul Potvin, all of Chicopee; his dear step brother, Scott Potvin of Austin, TX; his loving companion, Gail C. Casa of Chicopee; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Potvin and Lynch families. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his dear brother, Alfred Potvin. His funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of his family. There are no visiting hours.
