FALL RIVER – Dimas A. Moreira, age 77 of Fall River, passed away on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019 peacefully at home with his family by his side. Born in Amoreiras da Bretanha, Sao Miguel, Acores, he was the son of the late Joao & Maria (Miranda) Moreira and the beloved husband of Margarida (Pedro) Moreira for 54 years.
Prior to retiring, Dimas worked for 30 yrs. as a Construction Laborer and was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church. He had a passion for gardening and enjoyed spending time in his backyard where he grew countless varieties of plants, trees, and flowers. His love of gardening was only second to his love for his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of Fall River, he is survived by his three children: Dimas Moreira Jr. (wife Carmen) of El Paso, TX, Francisco Moreira (wife Denise) and Christine Moreira all of Fall River; three siblings: Manuel Moreira & Hilda Viveiros both of Fall River, and Maria Espirito Santo Cabral of Tiverton; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. Dimas was the brother of the late Maria Viveiros, Mariana Pedro, & Helena Pereira.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Friday, Jan. 18th here at 7:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Trinity Church, Stafford Rd. at 9:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
