Cecelia T. (Hannon) Casey, age 90, of Mansfield, formerly of Hyde park, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her adoring family on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Casey, to whom she was wed for thirty-two years at the time of his death on July 29, 1982.

Born in Quincy, MA on May 23, 1928, she was a loving daughter of the late Michael J. and Celia (Wynne) Hannon.

Cecelia grew up in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston and was a 1946 graduate of Jeremiah Burke High School in Dorchester.

Mrs. Casey was dedicated homemaker to her loving family and had also worked as a receptionist for the Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in Boston.

A resident of Mansfield for the past twenty-two years, Cecelia was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and a former longtime resident of Hyde Park. Her family was the greatest joy in her life and she especially loved listening and dancing to Irish music.

She is survived by her devoted children: Mary A. Mullin of Canton, Michael G. Casey of Mansfield, Eileen T. Guadagnoli and her husband David of Mansfield and the late John J. Casey, Jr. She was the cherished grandmother of James Mullin and his wife Amy of North Carolina, Jackie Mullin and her husband Mike of Canton and Jessica Guadagnoli of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of Sister Mary Hannon, Sisters of Charity of Halifax, Nova Scotia, who resides in Wellesley and is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will begin on Monday, January 14th at 10:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 11:00 A.M. in Saint. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 13th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
