Richard G. Louf

Richard G. Louf, age 72, of Lynn and formerly of Salem, passed away unexpectedly at the NSMC / Union Hospital in Lynn on Saturday, December 29, 2018. He was the son of the late Armand A. and Cecile J. (Plante) Louf.
Born and raised in Salem he was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy and earned his Master’s Degree in languages for Northeastern University. Prior to joining the Air Force he worked for the former Danvers News Agency. While serving with the Air Force during the Vietnam years, he worked as language specialist / interpreter. Following his tour of duty, he returned to the area and worked for several companies including, H.P. Hood and West Lynn Creameries and as a manager and projectionist for Lowes Cinema in Danvers.
But, Richard’s real passion was photography. For many years he worked a free lance photographer, photographing fire apparatus and fires throughout the greater Lynn area.
Richard is survived by four brothers and sisters, Gloria L. Sabino of Peabody, Stephen L Louf and his wife Beatrice of Peabody, Joanne M. Louf and her lifelong companion Eric Morin of Salem, Johnny Evil and his wife Debora of Saugus and his companion, Mary Sabulao of Lynn. He also leaves his nieces and nephews, Jonathan Howard, Joseph V. Louf, James A. Sabino, Stephen L. Louf, Jr., Violet C. Louf, Nicholas A. Sabino his Godson, Kristin A. Pereira, Sarah M.Sabino, Angie Marie Saulnier, Jeremiah John Louf, Joshua S. Morin and grandnieces and grandnephews, Brooke & Austin Pereira and Kyle Jay Wilson. He was predeceased by his brothers, Roger S. and Jean A. Louf.
Relatives and friends are invited to his calling hours on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem to be followed by his Funeral Service in the funeral home at 12:00 Noon. A committal of ashes service will follow with Military Honors in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to your local Fire Department Relief Fund.
