Lorraine, M. (Moffett) Boisvert Minor

SPRINGFIELD ~ Lorraine M. (Moffett) Boisvert Minor, 83, of Springfield and a former resident of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, December 29, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home on Mary Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee on March 11, 1935, a beloved daughter of the late James G. and Josephine A. (Gosselin) Moffett. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from Springfield Trade High School and lived in Springfield until 1955 when she moved to Chicopee. Lorraine was employed as a Transportation Specialist for the Department of Defense at Westover Air Reserve Base IN Chicopee and retired in 1996. She previously worked at the former Rex Lounge in Chicopee and later at the American Bosch in Springfield until their closing. She was a communicant of Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church in Springfield where she was a member of the Saint Anthony Women’s Guild. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard S. Minor, Jr. who was Called Home on July 22, 2014; her son, Mark A. Boisvert who was Called Home on June 10, 1986; her daughter, Michelle M. Boisvert who was Called Home on June 10, 2001; and her three brothers, James, George and Joseph Moffett. She leaves her son, Michael A. Boisvert and his wife, Corrine, of South Hadley; her daughter, Mia R. Weibel of Ludlow; her step-daughter, Sandra Fontana of Ackworth, GA; her three grandchildren, Tara Boisvert, Michael R. Weibel, Jr. and Jennifer Plamondon; her son-in-law, Noel Tetreault ; her two great-grandchildren, Madison Pellissier and Fynn Breault; her two step-grandchildren, R.J. and Marissa; her two sisters, Marilyn Rondeau of West Springfield and Marie Bates and her husband, David, of High Springs, FL; her brother, Thomas X. Moffett and his wife, Linda, of New Hampshire and Florida; her sister-in-law, Barbara Moffett of Northampton; her special cousin and friend, Lynn Dehneh; and her many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Minor, Boisvert and Moffett families. She will be sadly missed by her faithful companion, her granddog, Nog. Her family would like to thank Dr. Joelson and his entire staff for their kindness and compassionate care that they provided to Lorraine. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), which will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 375 Island Pond Road, Springfield, MA 01118. Her Committal Service will follow the Mass at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
