Joyce M. (Simpson) Barry, 75, of Derry, NH, passed away Wednesday December 12, 2018, in Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 8, 1943, a daughter of the late Uriah and Alice (Nierbzydoski) Simpson. Joyce worked as a sheet metal fabricator for Raytheon for 35 years. She was a gifted artisan. She loved to make intricate beaded jewelry, crocheting and various other crafts using her hands. She was also an amazing cook and animal lover. Joyce enjoyed a wonderful relationship with her husband Richard’s family.
She is survived by her beloved husband of almost 50 years, Richard J. Barry, a daughter, Stephanie Mackesy; two granddaughters, Colleen Paige and Mikala Mackesy; one great granddaughter, Elizabeth Paige; two great grandsons, Jonathan Paige and Jason Paige; her four legged children, Spirit, Rocky and Spice, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her son Robert Barry in 1980.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 4 – 7 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A Catholic prayer service follwed at 7:00pm in the funeral home with cremation to follow.
