Claire V. Herold, 88, of S. Dartmouth passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018 at home. Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Frank and Helene (Lamarche) Herold, she had lived in Dartmouth for most of her life. She was a 1947 graduate of New Bedford High School. She was a Communicant of St. Mary's Church, S. Dartmouth. She was a member of the Norwegian Elk Hound Rescue of New England, where she served on the Board of Directors and was also a longtime member of the Corvair Club with her car "Bessie". Claire loved her pets Max and Henry.
Survivors include her 2 close friends: Leonora Carreiro of New Bedford and Joyce Miller of S. Dartmouth.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at St. Mary's Church, S. Dartmouth at 10 AM.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the church from 9 - 10 AM prior to the Mass.
Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
