Marie T. "Mary" (Del Sapio) Ferrante, of Somerville, passed away Wednesday, December 5th. She was 94. Born and raised in Revere. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Nolasco) Del Sapio.

Mary loved spending time with her family. She especially loved her granddaughters and great grandson. Everyone was welcomed into her home, where she would always prepare for them a home cooked meal. She made everything from scratch and her oven was always full of delicious Italian traditional dishes, homemade pasta, meatballs, sauce, stuffed artichokes and her famous zucchini squares are just a few to mention. Mary was a dedicated wife, a wonderful mom, loving grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.


Marie was the beloved wife of the late Charles M. Ferrante. She was the devoted mother of Catherine A. Burgess and the late Kenneth C. Ferrante. She was the loving grandmother of Catherine M. Ferrante and Ashley A. Burgess, and great-grandmother of Llyr J. Burgess. The dear sister of Loretta Gallagher of Largo, FL and the late Rose Connelly, Salvatore Del Sapio, William Del Sapio, Michael Del Sapio and Ronald Del Sapio. The caring aunt of Elaine Nassif, Patricia Del Sapio, Jill Gallagher MacAuley and Jim Gallagher. She is also survived by many loving family members and friends.

A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Saturday, December 15th at 12 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 10 to 12 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
