Margaret A. (Holland) Curtis, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Deputy Fire Chief of the City of Medford, Thomas M. Curtis, passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Monday evening, December 3, 2018. She was 88 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on January 8, 1930, she was the beloved daughter of the late John and Mary (Grenham) Holland. Mrs. Curtis was a lifelong communicant of St. Raphael Church in West Medford. She loved spending time with family and friends, decorating her home for the holidays, but most importantly sharing her love of life.
Margaret is survived by her loving children: Thomas M. and his wife Jean M. Curtis of Lowell, Kathleen and her husband David Loane of York, Maine, Maureen and her husband Mark Clark of Eliot, Maine and Joanne C. and her husband Garry O’Brien of Reading, devoted sisters: Catherine Baldwin of Somerville, Gertrude Holland of Stoneham and Agnes Guthrie of Wakefield, cherished grandchildren: Mary Loane, Andrew Loane, Laura Clark, Siobhan O’Brien, Nathaniel Clark and Meghan O’Brien and many nieces, nephews and friends. Margaret was also the sister of the late Mary Fullerton, John Holland, James Holland, Ruth Mahoney and Ann Peters.
Her Funeral will be held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Friday, December 7, 2018, at 10 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 514 High St., Medford at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018, from 4 to 7 PM. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
