Maureen F. (Healy) Hughes, age 86, a longtime Wilmington resident, passed away suddenly on December 3, 2018, at the Care One of Wilmington Nursing Facility. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis E. Hughes. Born in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada she was one of three daughters of the late Edward John and Ann Josephine (Coady) Healy.

Maureen was raised in Shawinigan Falls, Quebec, Canada, and graduated from Shawinigan Falls High School at the age of 16 and then attended McGill University. Following her marriage, Maureen moved to the United States and became a U.S. Citizen in 1980.

For several years Maureen worked for the Town of Wilmington Public Schools in the Business Managers Office and retired from PWS Publishing Co. where she worked in the accounting department. Always active, Maureen also volunteered as a Girl Scout Assistant Troop Leader for Troop 389 in Wilmington. Mostly devoted to her family, Maureen will fondly be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and also for her beautiful singing voice. In her leisure time she enjoyed her doll collection, working on jig saw puzzles, crossword puzzles, counted cross stitch, gardening, and playing games with her grandchildren.

Maureen is lovingly survived by her devoted children; Shirley-Ann Bradley and her husband John of Andover, Erin Korbak and her husband Bill of Wilmington, Sandra Petrosius and her husband Steven of Goshen, KY. She was the loving grandmother of Robert Bradley and his wife Alyssa, James Bradley and his wife Victoria, Nicholas Petrosius, and Timothy Petrosius and his fiancé Leigha Moore. Mother-in-law of the late John J. Petrosius. Sister of Mary Patricia (Healy) Sarti and Shirley Ann (Healy) Parent both of Shawinigan Falls, Quebec. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Saturday, December 8th, for visiting hours from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a prayer service starting at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Maureen's memory to Rosie's Place, 889 Harrison Ave, Boston, MA 02118.
