He was born to parents Adeline and Pasquale on January 17, 1937 in East Boston, Massachusetts. He is predeceased by his brother Alfred. Fred graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in the North End of Boston and continued on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from Massachusetts College of Art and his Masters Degree in teaching from Columbia University. Fred worked for many years as an Assistant Professor of Art at Framingham State College, where he inspired many aspiring young artists, some of whom became life-long friends. He also worked as an interior designer, owning and operating his own small firm, Fiandaca Interiors.

Fred was known for his love of art and museums. Creating art for others was an important part of his life. That love of art has been passed down to his sons and grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling and loved the beaches of Cape Cod and Florida.
