Obituary

Lillian Ruth Mazza, age 78, passed away peacefully on November 26th after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born on November 11, 1940 in Mishawaka, Indiana, the youngest of five daughters to Lloyd D. Moats and Evelyn M. Kindig.
In her 20's, she left the comfort of her home in Indiana for the California coast where she met Jim Mazza, a salesman for Capitol Records. They fell in love and were married. Jim excelled and was promoted to President of Capitol Records which gave them the opportunity to meet and travel the world with many celebrities in the music industry.
After 16 years of marriage, they grew apart and she found strength in the L.A.D.I.E.S. group where she met many of her lifelong friends.
She settled in Ventura and started a position in sales where she met and married Larry Griffin. They were a charismatic sales team and created many friendships in the real estate industry. After 10 years of marriage, they went their separate ways but remained very close friends.
In the years to follow, Lynn retired and volunteered her time to help the homeless community through her church, South Coast Fellowship. She also loved animals and began volunteering at the Ventura location of S.P.A.R.C. (Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center) until she was physically unable.
She loved spending time with her family and friends and her trips to Solvang and Palm Springs with her son and his wife. There will be many stories of her giving spirit for years to come from people she met.
On the evening of her passing, she was surrounded by family where her great Grandchildren sang songs and prayed over her before she went to be with her Lord and Savior.
Lynn is survived by her three siblings: Joyce Jennings, Nancy Hahaj, and Carole Moats (Larry Brucker); her son: Scott Mazza and his wife Arlene; her grandchildren: Mark, Damien, and Christopher; her great-grandchildren: James, Hannah, Nathaniel, and Gabriel. She was very close with her niece Christine Abner.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Eldeane Kalinowski.
The family would like to extend our gratitude to Assisted Hospice and The Lexington for their loving care and help in her final months.
Services will be held on Tuesday December 4th at 10:00am at South Coast Fellowship 4050 Market Street Ventura. Arrangements are under the direction of the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura.
