Obituary

Patricia R. [O’Leary] Macara, 81, of Truro died peacefully at home on Thursday, November 15th, surrounded by her loving family, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was the wife of Manuel G. Macara, Jr.

Born and raised in Biddeford, Maine, the daughter of the late Robert and Melina O’Leary, she attended local parochial schools. Patricia met Manny while he was stationed at the Biddeford Pool Coast Guard Station. They were happily married for 63 years.

Pat worked as a waitress, and in a card shop before moving to Truro, where she worked for many years at the Highland Links Golf Course. Her first love, however, was her family. She babysat for family members, and was a great cook and baker. She also enjoyed playing Bingo.

In addition to her husband Manny, daughters Linda L. Macara and Roxane M. Macara, both of Truro and sons Manuel G. Macara III of Los Angeles, CA and Randall D. Macara of Revere survive her. She also leaves granddaughters Nicole Blomé Conrad, Rebecca A. Blomé, and Kellie E. Blomé, as well as 8 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, to be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday November 27th at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 11 Prince St. Provincetown. A private burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the VNA of Cape Cod, 434 Route 134, South Dennis, MA 02660.
