Obituary

Mr. Marc Jean-Pierre of Hyde Park passed away on November 2, 2018.
Marc Joseph Willy Jean-Pierre was born on March 15, 1944 in Leogane, Haiti to the parents of Andre Jean-Pierre and Veronique Millien. Marc Jean-Pierre did most of his elementary schooling in Haiti at Salesien, and High School at Lycee Petion. Marc worked various jobs and his favorite was being a judge.. On April 27, 1968 Marc and Monique were married in Port-au-Prince.
In August of 1980, Marc relocated to America to live with his family in Boston for the remainder of his life.
In 1988 Marc attended American Business Institute. He was first employed at Walter E. Fernando State School. He later worked most of his life for the Boston Public School Department of Transportation. Marc attended the First Haitian Baptist Church for most of his life and also served as a Sunday school teacher.
One of Marc's favorite pastimes was watching soccer and volunteering atTele Creole. He loved to stay current on the news and also enjoyed various types of music. Bob Marley songs always seemed to bring him a smile.
Marc is very well loved and respected man by both friends and family alike. Marc is survived by his lovely wife Monique Jean-Pierre. Earlier this year Marc and Monique celebrated 58 years of marriage.
Marc is also survived by his six children, fourteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.
Affectionately called "Papi", his spirit lives on in all of his children beginning with his eldest son Moreno Jean-Pierre and his wife Pamela, daughter Miranda Jean-Pierre and her husband Hughes, daughter Marsha Muhammad and her husband Tyrone, son Steve Jean-Pierre and his partner Martha, son Luc Jean-Pierre, and youngest son Samuel Jean-Pierre. Paris spirit continues in his grandchildren; Kareem, Akeem, Kiyanna, Fatiha, Kyeif, Jabber, Jaheim, Malik, Khalid, Fajr, Johaun, Estevan, Giselle, and Quinton. As well as great-grandchildren Zarina, Lola, and Zander.
Marc is also survived by his siblings, Pastor Marc Bertrand and his family, Patrick Bertrand and his family, Verna Bertrand and her family.
After 74 years we celebrate Marc Jean-Pierre's life, spirit and love.
The family will receive visitors at the First Hatian Baptist Church, 397 Blue Hill Ave., Boston on Friday, November 16 from 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will take place at the First Haitian Baptist Church on Saturday, November 17th at 9 am.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery Hyde Park.
