S. BOSTON: Clare (Kennedy) Crawford, 80, of West Second Street died peacefully after a period of declining health in Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick surrounded by her loving family.
Clare was born in June of 1938 in Boston, MA to the (late) William J. and Dorothy B. (Bean) Kennedy. After graduating from high school, Clare earned her Secretarial Certificate from The Burdett School. She worked at UMASS Boston until her retirement as the Department Secretary of the Political Science Department.
Clare was a loving, kind and joyous person. She lit up the rooms that she walked into. She doted on her family and enjoyed time spent with them. She enjoyed painting, listening to political lectures, book fairs and organizing film clubs for movie nights.
Clare is survived by her daughter, Karen Crawford and her husband Allen Michie of Austin, TX; her brother: William Kennedy and his wife Janice of Lexington; her sisters: Dorothy Kennedy and her husband Oliva Blanchette of Natick and Kathleen Kennedy of Franklin; and her grandchildren: Silvio Guzman and Iris Guzman of Austin, TX.
Clare was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Crawford in 1974 and her brother Leo Kennedy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 15th at 11:00 A.M. in St. Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, MA 01760.
Visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 9:00-10:30 A.M. in the Chapel of John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick, MA 01760.
