Rita E. (Hebert) Gamble

SPRINGFIELD ~ Rita E. (Hebert) Gamble, 96, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at Linda Manor in Leeds surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on September 25, 1922, a beloved daughter of the late Jean Baptiste Hebert and Dora (Chabot) Hebert. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from Cathedral High School and was a lifelong resident of Springfield. During her leisure time, she traveled to many beautiful places with her husband. She also was a member of the Airways Bowling League at the Springfield Plaza and enjoyed golfing at Franconia Golf Course. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond W. Gamble who was Called Home on October 15, 1992. She leaves her loving children, Mary M. Salvon of Southwick, Christopher J. Gamble and his wife, Elizabeth Jo, of Southwick and Charlene A. Dupuis of Springfield; her nine cherished grandchildren, Bethany Salvon and her partner, Randy Kalp, Bridgette Salvon-Berndt and her husband, Michael Berndt, Kaitlyn Salvon, Sarah Giffard-Gamble and her husband, Jonathan Giffard, William Gamble and his partner, Erica Stoeckeler, Michael Gamble, Tabitha Provost and her husband, Scott, Joshua Dupuis and his wife, Nadia, and Alexandra Dupuis; her five cherished great-grandchildren, Joey, Robin, Jacob, Juliette and Lewis; her dear sister, Doris McNeil of Springfield; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Gamble and Hebert families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her loving daughter, Patricia A. Gamble who was Called Home on March 23, 1966; her dear son-in-law, Robert S. Salvon who was Called Home on July 19, 2016; her two dear brothers, Joseph Hebert and Thomas Hebert; her three dear sisters, Alice Hoekstra and her husband, Donald, Vivian Collard and Theresa DeSellier and her husband, Richard; and her dear brother-in-law, David McNeil. Rita’s funeral will be private for her family at Sacred Heart Church with burial to follow the Mass at Saint Michael Cemetery, both in Springfield. Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
