SPRINGFIELD ~ June A. (Theroux) Auger, 83, of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home on Blanchard Street in the Fairview section of Chicopee on June 19, 1935, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph F. Theroux and Grace M. (Keeler) Theroux Lichwala. She was raised in Chicopee, attended local schools and moved to Springfield around 1993. She furthered her education and received a certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1975 from the former Western Mass Nursing School in Westfield. She was employed for many years at Mercy Hospital and Baystate Medical Center, both in Springfield, and had also worked at several nursing homes in the area. During her leisure time, June was always ready to try her luck at Mohegan Sun. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. She leaves her loving children, Christine L. Wyszynski and her husband, Walter, of Springfield with whom she lived and Kenneth G. Auger of South Hadley; her seven cherished grandchildren, Kyle Morin and his wife, Melissa, Cassandra Churchill and her husband, Heath, and Nathan, Katie, Heather, Michael and Stephen Auger; her seven cherished great-grandchildren who affectionately called her “GG”, Zachary and Avery Morin, Andrew and Elizabeth Miller, Leyden and Adeline Churchill and Anna Auger; her dear sister, Bernadine “Sparky” Klin of Chicopee; her dear sister-in-law, Elizabeth “Betty” Theroux of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Auger, Theroux and Keeler families. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her loving son, Richard C. Auger who was Called Home on March 19, 2016; her cherished grandson, Brian Auger; her three dear brothers, Dennis, Frederick and James Theroux; and her dear sister, Nancy Keeler. Her funeral will be held on Thursday morning, November 15, 2018 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday morning, November 15, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
