O’Neill, Timothy “Timmy”, age 75 of the Norwood/Dedham area passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in West Roxbury. Timmy left his homeland of County Cork, Ireland in 1959 to settle in the United States. He attended Roslindale High School and then opened family businesses with his brothers. While growing up, his daughters realized there was nary a time or place where he didn’t know a friend. Timmy was a member of the Donald Ross League at George Wright Golf Course in Hyde Park for 40+ years where he spent any free moment playing golf with is fellow league members. He also belonged to the Elks Club and The Moose Lodge where he enjoyed visiting with so many of his friends.
Timmy was predeceased by his wife Renee O’Neill, his parents Timothy and Margaret O’Neill of County Cork, Ireland and his siblings Helen (Hilda) Norton, Catherine (Marie) O’Neill, Jeremiah (Jerry) O’Neill and John O’Neill. Timmy is survived by his daughters Kimberly Cossette and Karen Klemcke, Karen’s husband Tom, and his grandchildren Brooke, Alyssa, Riley, Anya and Kelton of Austin, Texas. Timmy loved spending his time in Texas with his daughters and grandchildren, who he loved ever-so-slightly more than 18 holes at George Wright or a well-poured Guinness! Timmy spent much of his time with his girlfriend of more than 20 years, Christine White of Hyde Park. He also enjoyed winters in Florida where he could continue to enjoy the game of golf. He will be missed by all who knew him. Timmy did not want a viewing or funeral, but a celebration. Please join his family and friends as we celebrate on the 19th hole at George Wright Golf Course Thursday, November 15th at 6pm.
