Preceded in death by parents Walter and Loretta May Zabel; husband Jack Smith; siblings Dorothy, Joy, Jess, and Albert; niece Lorna Mae; survived by Richard. Dearly loved and survived by nephew Jeff Beaudoin (Karen); niece Sandra Meyer (Jerry); cousins Steve and Barb Engle, Susie Gladwell; nephew Ray Zabel (Jan); nieces Trish Kerr (Dave), Theresa Johnson (Harold); nephews Jim and Steve Nungary; great nephew Randy (Diane); great nieces Lisa Ryan (Matt), and Shelley Saby (Randy); great-great nephews Chris and Andrew Meyer, Nathan and Brett Reinhart; great-great nieces Kaitlyn and Abby Ryan. Also survived by many other nephews, nieces, and special friends. Lorna grew up in Clayton, WI, attended St. Croix Falls Normal School. She worked at West Publishing, Kennedy Bros. Arms, and was office manager at Monroe Calculator; volunteered at St. Paul Landmark Center and Minnesota Public Television (TPT). Her pastimes were playing bridge, cooking, reading, traveling, and Stonebridge Christian Women's Association. She treasured her family and many life-long friends. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, November 8, 12:00 PM at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 2593 E. 7th Ave., North St. Paul, MN, with visitation two hours prior. Private interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Salvation Army, The Pillars Hospice, or donor's choice.
