| Funeral services for Mr. Preston Augustus Wells, 95, of Ashburn, GA will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, October 29 at Perry Funeral Chapel. Mr. Wells passed away in Ben Hill County following a lengthy illness. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn.
The son of the late Augustus Bartow Wells and Emily Jane Jones Wells Smith, he was born in Ashburn. He was a member of the Sycamore United Methodist Church and proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Air Force. He was retired Tax Assessors for the Turner County Board of Commissioners in Ashburn, GA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Emory Robert Wells, and Louise Marie Whittle. Mr. Wells is survived by his wife, Imogene Beard Wells of Ashburn; his children, Brenda Gail (Fred) Palmer of Adel, Phillip A. (Kaye) Wells of Marietta and Emmitt T. Hardwick, Jr of Valley, AL. His grandchildren, Melissa Palmer (Tony) Betts, Mary Kathryn Wells, Clark (Pamela) Wells, Taylor Hardwick and Alex (Keisha) Hardwick. His great grandchildren, Palmer Betts, Preston Pate Betts, Emilee Betts and Harper Hardwick. The family will receive friend on Monday, October 29 from 2:00 PM until the hour of services. | ||||
