FLANAGAN, Geraldine (Robinson), 94, born March 8, 1924 in Brookline, Ma. She passed away on October 8, 2018 peacefully with family by her side. Jerry spent over 40 years as a resident of West Roxbury and raised her family there. She is survived by her daughters Carole Flanagan Pinto and her husband John Pinto of Easton, Ma and Nancy Delehanty and her husband Edward Of Somerset, Ma. She is also survived by her sister Ruth Robinson of Falmouth. She was a loving Nana to her grandchildren, Courtney Welch of Foxboro, Ma, Gregory Welch and his wife Becca of Morristown, N.C., Adrienne Howley and her husband Steve of Quincy, Daniel Pinto of Easton, Ma., Annie & Tom Delehanty of North Carolina and Virginia respectively and Kathleen and Travis Trusty of Texas. Jerry also doted on her 8 great grandchildren who called her GG. Jerry is pre-deceased by her husband of 50 years, James Flanagan. James was also a WWII Veteran. Jerry is also pre-deceased by her brothers William and Clement Robinson of Manchester, NH and her sister Katherine Conner of Brookline, Ma. Jerry was a 1942 Graduate of Brookline High School. She joined the Navy after high school and served as a decoder of the enemy communications during WWII. She served until the war was over. Jerry then went to Lesley College and graduated with a teaching degree. She taught for many years in the Boston and Brookline school systems. Her hobbies included walking with friends around the Brookline Reservoir and was a daily swimmer. Jerry especially loved her family time and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held in the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 10am – 11am followed by a service in the Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. Two of Jerry's favorite things were fresh flowers and St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905. Either of these remembrances would be greatly appreciated by her family.
