Mary E. (Murphy) Mason, a longtime resident of Andover, passed away at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen on Tuesday morning, October 9, 2018. She was 91 years old.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 8, 1927, she was the beloved daughter of the late John P. Murphy and Blanche (Machevski) Murphy. Mary was a graduate of Symmons Business College and had worked as a Paralegal for many years. She had been active in St. Augustine Church in Andover. She worked as secretary at St. Augustine School and was in the choir and a member of the guild at the church. A tax preparer for most of her life, she was a trusted advisor, and elderly advocate to many of the residents at 30 Railroad Avenue in Andover. She was an avid reader, and loved vacationing with her family and friends, and especially to Longboat Key, FL. She will be dearly missed.
Mary is survived by her loving sons; Shawn and his wife Donna J. Mason of Lawrence and Daniel C. Mason of Pennsylvania, her brother; Thomas J. Murphy of Florida, her granddaughter; Leah and her husband Joseph Geraci of Andover, and her two great-grandson's; Anthony "AJ" and Mason Geraci, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter; Maureen A. Mason, and two brothers; Robert and John Murphy.
