CHICOPEE ~ Cecile M. “Ceil” (Turgeon) Hooper, 78, a longtime resident of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, October 7, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at South Hadley surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on March 10, 1940, a beloved daughter of the late Rosaire J. and Bernadette M. (Gravel) Turgeon. She was raised in the Flats section of Holyoke, attended local schools and lived in Holyoke for many years before moving to the Fairview section of Chicopee. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard N. Hooper, Sr. who was Called Home on October 27, 2003. She leaves her two sons, Jeffrey T. Hooper and his companion, Daniela, and Richard N. Hooper, Jr., his wife, Paula, and their son, Joshua T. Hooper; her cherished caregiver, Jamie M. Hennihan and her companion, Iggy; her loving brother, Joseph R. Turgeon and his wife, Dottie; her loving sister, Gisele Zygarowski Bernier; her loving sisters-in-law, Cozette Turgeon and Helen Joyal; and her many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Hooper and Turgeon families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her loving sister and brothers, Gabrielle Hennessey and Adolphe “Jeep”, Palmer “Joe”, Lucien “Shorty”, Raoul “Ralph” and Roger Turgeon. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
