Mr. George B. Gumbleton, a lifelong resident of Medford, passed away at the Eastpointe Rehabilitation Center in Chelsea on Thursday evening, October 4, 2018. He was 97 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on September 8, 1921, he was the beloved son of the late Maurice and Ellen (Daly) Gumbleton. Mr. Gumbleton was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1940. He had been employed as a Security Officer for Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. In his spare time, Mr. Gumbleton enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, traveling, especially to Florida and spending time with his family. A spontaneous man, George loved to surprise his many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed.
George is survived by his loving nieces; Anne Ricciardelli of Malden and Lucille Gumbleton of Medford and many other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
His funeral service will be celebration the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Friday, October 12, 2018, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend.
