Worcester: Janice E. (Potter) Shonbeck, 63, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, October 1, 2018. She leaves her husband Paul E. Shonbeck and his sons Chad Shonbeck of Worcester and Gerard Shonbeck of Webster; a sister Elizabeth McMillan of West Boylston and several nieces and nephews.
Janice was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Morgan and F. Louise (Bass) Potter. She attended Doherty Memorial High School and took courses at several local colleges including Quinsigamond Community College, Assumption College and Boston College. She worked as a medical secretary for many years at several doctor offices in Boston. She was a former member of SAC Park and its Scholarship Committee. She was also a member of Preservation Worcester. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, traveling internationally, studying architecture and listening to The Beatles, David Bowie and Lady Gaga.
Following cremation, burial will be in Maine. There are no calling hours or funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations in Janice's memory may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League 139 Holden St. Worcester or to Veterans Inc. 69 Grove St. Worcester.
